Education Curriculum & Development Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
The Education Curriculum & Development Manager is responsible for building and evolving a globally relevant education ecosystem that supports O&M’s professional community, commercial objectives and brand strategy.
Education is one of the most powerful ways O&M earns its place behind the chair. This role sits at the intersection of Education, Brand, Communications, Commercial and Capability Development — shaping what O&M teaches, how it is taught, how it is seen and how it drives growth for the salons and stylists who partner with us.
The role balances professional curriculum development, education asset creation, global consistency, education amplification and internal capability building, ensuring O&M Education remains commercially relevant, highly visible, scalable across markets and fully aligned with the broader Marketing and Sales strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Professional Curriculum Development
- Lead the development, evolution and ongoing refinement of O&M’s professional education curriculum.
- Identify curriculum and capability gaps year-on-year, ensuring programming evolves alongside product innovation, professional trends, customer needs and commercial priorities.
- Develop clear learning pathways across foundational, intermediate and advanced education.
- Translate technical product knowledge, brand strategy and professional techniques into compelling, practical and commercially relevant education.
- Establish learning objectives, course structures, facilitator materials and supporting educational resources.
- Regularly evaluate existing curriculum for relevance, effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
Ambassador & Educator Collaboration
- Partner with O&M’s professional Ambassadors, Artists and Educators to identify emerging education needs, techniques and opportunities.
- Harness the expertise of the professional community to develop scalable curriculum and learning experiences.
- Ensure Educators have the appropriate tools, knowledge and materials to confidently and consistently deliver O&M education.
- Global Education Planning
- Own and maintain the global curriculum calendar, ensuring education priorities align with annual Marketing, NPD and Commercial calendars.
- Work collaboratively with regional teams to understand local education requirements while maintaining global brand and curriculum consistency.
- Establish frameworks that allow global curriculum to be appropriately adapted for regional markets without compromising core messaging, technical accuracy or brand standards.
- Maintain visibility of curriculum availability, updates and deployment across global markets.
Cross-Functional Commercial Alignment
- Work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure education supports both brand-building and commercial objectives.
- Translate Marketing strategy, product launches and commercial priorities into relevant professional education initiatives.
- Identify opportunities where education can support customer acquisition, retention, product adoption and salon growth.
- Ensure Education is considered an integrated component of go-to-market planning rather than a standalone activity.
- Education Communications & Amplification
- Partner closely with Communications, PR and Marketing teams to ensure O&M’s education activities, programmes and achievements are effectively amplified across appropriate internal and external channels.
- Develop forward visibility of the Education calendar so Communications and Marketing teams can proactively build education into content, PR and communications planning.
- Identify compelling education stories, Educator and Ambassador moments, professional achievements and programme milestones that generate greater awareness and engagement.
- Ensure Education maintains a strong and consistent presence across O&M’s professional communications ecosystem.
- Support the development of messaging and content that communicates the value of O&M Education to salons, stylists, partners and the broader professional community.
- Drive greater awareness of available education programmes, tools and resources to support participation and utilisation globally.
Education Tools, Content & Asset Development
- Manage the development of educational tools, presentations, facilitator guides, technical resources, digital learning materials and supporting assets.
- Collaborate closely with the Associate Brand Manager — Content to brief, develop and refine education assets.
- Ensure educational materials are technically accurate, visually aligned with O&M brand standards and appropriate for global deployment.
- Manage the organisation and availability of approved Education assets within the company’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform.
- Drive adoption of approved assets globally, ensuring teams are working from current and consistent materials.
- Establish processes for version control, asset updates and the retirement of outdated education materials.
Internal Learning & Capability Development
- Develop and coordinate internal learning initiatives that strengthen the capabilities of O&M teams globally.
- Identify skill and knowledge gaps across teams and translate these into practical development opportunities.
- Support training associated with new systems, software and technology introduced across the organisation.
- Develop learning opportunities that strengthen individual capabilities in areas that contribute to commercial growth, productivity, collaboration and innovation.
- Work with functional leaders to understand evolving capability requirements and establish appropriate learning solutions.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning, curiosity and professional development across the organisation.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Establish appropriate measures for curriculum effectiveness, participation, adoption, awareness and learner feedback.
- Gather feedback from Educators, Ambassadors, Sales teams, regional teams and participants to continuously improve programming.
- Monitor utilisation of curriculum and education assets across markets.
- Evaluate awareness of and engagement with Education initiatives in partnership with Marketing and Communications.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the Head of Marketing & Education regarding curriculum performance, capability gaps and future priorities.

Early engagement on product innovation to ensure technical knowledge is translated into education ahead of launch.
Regional & International Teams
Understands local requirements and supports adaptation of global curriculum within agreed frameworks, maintaining consistency of core messaging and standards.
Ambassadors, Artists & Educators
Harnesses their expertise to shape curriculum and equips them with the tools and materials to deliver O&M education consistently.
Functional Leaders
Identifies evolving capability needs across teams and co-designs internal learning solutions, including new systems and technology adoption.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Demonstrated experience developing structured education or professional learning programmes, from needs analysis through to design, rollout and evaluation.
- Proven ability to turn technical information into clear, engaging and scalable learning experiences.
- A strong understanding of how education supports broader Marketing, Communications and Commercial objectives.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple curriculum streams, calendars and stakeholders concurrently.
- Strong written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience collaborating with creative and communications teams to develop and amplify educational initiatives.
- Confidence working across global and regional teams, with sensitivity to local market needs.
- Strong digital literacy, including experience with digital learning tools and asset management platforms, and the ability to quickly learn and help others adopt new systems and technologies.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within professional haircare, beauty or a salon-led brand environment.
- A background as a hairdresser, colourist or technical educator, or a working understanding of salon culture, techniques and the stylist journey.
- Experience working with brand ambassadors, artists or external educator networks.
- Exposure to Digital Asset Management (DAM) or Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
- Tertiary qualifications in education, adult learning, marketing or a related discipline.
